Another grave

This is the newest grave in the cemetery. This just looked so neglected. The whole cmetery is a sad, neglected place. It also has grave stones that face willy nilly and in very bad disrepair.

  1. That one isn't so old. Looks like someone would at least keep the newer graves up. I guess it's hard to do. Maybe there isn't much family left.

  4. Some of the grave yards around here are also in a terrible state of repair, very over grown and full of brambles. The sad thing is the churches are still being used, so why have the grounds not been kept to a desent standard. I have come across grave stones relating to the families which made our town, built the mills, the schools, and the churches, yet their graves are long forgotten and untidy. I think churches should be responsible for the grounds, and the relations for the headstones and surrounds. I think an unkept grave yard is a magnate for vandals and muggers and reflects badly on the church as a whole.

  5. It is sad when they are neglected. It's too bad they don't look after them better.

  6. It's a shame when a cemetary is let go.

  7. Aaww. That is sad. But perhaps the family they've got are all old or live far?

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo.

  8. I had no idea you were from WVA until I just finished reading your post on my age blog post. Patty and I have been back to Hinton, WV in July as I rmember. It was still lots of hills and lots of curves to get there but it was also a nice place to visit. My mom was from Summers County and grandpa lived there for many years. Talk about shacks. He had one. Wow. But it was home for many years.

Thanks for your visits to my place. I do appreciate it a lot.
