Lady Neva Day Lily

My neighbor is an avid gardener. Last year, she found on line a day lily named "Lady Neva". She couldn't resist getting it for me(after all..it IS my name!) and here is the result.....and interestingly....it truly only stays in bloom one day....not like my fire engine red day lilies or my Stella Dora's. Go figure that the name actually means a "day"!

  1. I love day lillys, probably because they are here and gone so fast. I always think of my mom when I see them because she always had them in her garden.

Nice to have one bear your name :)

  5. Great photo. What a beautiful flower.

As for the cloud in my picture, I didn't notice until you pointed it out that it looks like it's going to take a bite out of the crane. Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog.

  11. It should be called the "It's Neva!" Day Lily. Pretty cool to have your own lily ...especially with an unusual name like yours. Still waiting on the Bettina day lily.

I have been totally impressed with the pics...didn't know you had it in you!

  14. I bought Lady Neva lilies (also my wifes name)in 2002 from Florida. Put them in my garden in Michigan. Lived up there just fine. When we moved to Arkansas in 2005 (January-Frozen)dug up the ones I could find. Placed them in a Popcorn can. Spent a month in a storage unit. Moved them into a yard and moved them again in November.
They are up and Doing FINE>
    Very hardy-just like my wife!
