Palatine Masonic Hall

Posted by Picasa
This building celebrated it's 100th anniversary in 2004. Since 1859, there has been a masonic building in Palatine. The original building was located here until they needed to move to a bigger facility. This is across the street from yesterday's statue.

There is more information on this building here.

  1. Do you mean it is the building where freemasons meet? Funny. In France we have a lot of freemasons but they don't talk about their commitment. They don't have a place reserved for them, with the name of their lodge, etc.... They tend to hide that they are freemasons.

That's a big cultural difference between our countries!

  2. Nice shot. I really like the rails in the photo. Interesting that the Lamplighter Inn was the old Masonic Lodge. There must be some interesting carvings and wood within that building.

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog.

  3. Your town is very colorful!

  4. It looks like you have trains that go through your town. I like the sound of the trains going by!

  7. I am going to hopefully join that lodge this summer. I've seen that building since I was a kid and never knew it was a Lodge. I bet my mom doesn't even know and she's lived in Inverness since she was a kid in the 50's.

I am glad you stopped in!
