A very busy spider

I was getting gas last week and happened to look up and see this spider and its web. The spider was very busy running around its web looking for food, I guess. So I took his picture.

  1. I don't like spiders at all Neva, but when I come across them on a web I don't feel as bad. It is certainly one of lifes wonders to watch then spin a web and the to catch bugs and wrap them up. I have a very scarey picture coming up soon on Wiggers World of a spider my friend came across last week on a garden wall. Fangs an all...

  2. I'm not a fan of spiders either but like you and probably most bloggers I'd try to take a picture of one if I saw a good opportunity!

  6. Oh I love spiders -- they eat ants which I can't abide.
I once had a spider living on my car's wing mirror - before long Arabella had her own web page and international fans but the site has now disappeared.

  7. Nice shot. It is not easy to get a good photo of a spider's web.

  10. You've got to admire them - but from a distance.

One day a friend and I were driving to the coast when a huge huntsman spider appeared in the car. We were both screaming and trying to kill it and at one stage I had both feet on the dash as it ran under my seat - which wasn't good as I was the driver!!!

We stopped and bought a can of flyspray, emptied into the car, locked it up and went to the beach for the day. Then drove home with my friend on spider watch. Never saw it again (the spider not my friend - although she didn't like traveling in my car after that!!!!)

  12. Count me among those who love spiders and their artful webs.

That is a Burger King in the background. Now those I do detest.

  13. I thought it was a broken window but it is the spiders web. Good shot. I do like spiders but from a distance, whitout them the world would be full with insects.

  14. So your spider picture looks just like the one on my rose bushes at the edge of my house. Told the husband "That HAS TO GO!" Went out there during the day and saw no spider but still the web...that gives me the creeps! Because you may or may not know this about me...I am terrified of spiders...just ask the 3 guys and one husband...they all would say that was mom's big fear! If I can get the nerve to snap the picture, I'll send it to you because it looks like the same kind of spider...YUCK! Otherwise, my poor roses are not getting any attention till the spider is GONE!
