A Michigan cabin

I'm BACK!! and ready to blog. Thanks to all that visited during my week of vacation in North Michigan. I could only get the laptop up and running once so I have lots of blogs to catch up on. This is one of the cabins that is at the camp we stayed at. This cabin has a wonderful porch on the front that overlooks Walloon Lake. We were here with 21 relatives for a week....and yes, it was fun! (and it wasn't even all of the relatives either!) You can go here and see what my week at camp was like. We have been doing this for 19 years and it really is a lot of fun....and the weather was wonderful. I now know why people used to go north before air conditioning was invented!

  1. Welcome back Neva - I missed your blog and your visits to mine.

You must have really nice relatives to be with 21 of them in a cabin for a week. I think the guy who penned the term "cabin fever" did not have such pleasant relations!!!!

  5. Nice photo and description of your trip north for the vacation. Lots of people around here used to go north to both Michigan and Canada to go fishing and get away from it all. In August. I have been out of the loop for so long that I don't know if people still do it or not.

Glad you are back safe and sound.

  6. Welcome back Neva - I also got back from a break up in northern Wisconsin. I'm sure we weren't too far from each other! Was it really hot up there too? All burning permits cancelled up by our cabin as they hadn't had any rain in weeks. It was still in the 80s at night, which is really weird for that part of the world!

  8. This reminds me of Baguio - endearingly dubbed as the summer capital of the Philippines. It's always 9 degrees (Celcius) lower than the capital, Manila. It's a tropical country, but in Baguio the houses have chimneys and pine trees are everywhere.

  10. It is very dry up north but I wasn't aware of any bans....but I would be reluctant to have a fire anywhere but by the lake on the beach inches away from the water! Thanks for all your comments! I've missed you all! I will catch up as soon as I can!

  11. Glad you had a great time on your trip! I agree that being up north is very nice and special, not to mention a bit cooler (though us Northerns still think it's been a bit hot the past couple of weeks!).

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog.
