Inside the Cemetery

This is what it looks like in the cemetery....if you hang over the gate and point and shoot. I wasn't ready to climb the fence.

  1. So, is that where you take your shaggy companion for a walk each day? Nice trail...

  2. It's rather scary looking! I wonder what's on the tombstone that's leaning against the tree.
Come on Neva, jump that fence and take pictures! lol

  3. Nice shot. I like old places where spirits dwell. Not taverns or saloons but the dead ones. It is always fascinating to me to wonder if they are watching or listening or seeing me when I walk through the cemetery.

The other nice thing about them is there are no freeways and practically no noise or traffic in them. Once you get there you don't leave. So it is a quite place.

  4. I too like grave yards,... that sounds a bit weird ha!
There's alway some good shots to be had depending on my mood.

    Nice place you live BTW

  6. Love the angle of this shot neva. Hanging over the fence worked well!!!!

I could certainly spend eternity in such a peaceful green place.

  7. It looks like a northern cemetery, with the green grass and the shading trees. Here in the south the grass is usually brown and the trees are far and few between, little shade.

  8. Old headstones can be revealing and evocative - when one can wander in. Thanks for stopping by too, at Newcastle of all places - a long way from home.

  9. Great shot. Was it taken in the morning? It looks a little misty and therefore mysterious. Like your photos a lot, especially the cemetery scenes.

  10. I took in the afternoon between raindrops...another reason I wasn't excited about going over the gate! I might have to cave though and get a photo from the front of the stones.

  11. Is it still "in use"?

I think it is a very peaceful place. I don't find it "frightening" at all.

  12. I like the light in this photo--it's very misty--sort of looks like a good scene for an old fashioned duel or something...
