Where's my umbrella?
I was at the grocery store and as I was leaving I noticed this young man "weed wacking" after the grass had been mowed. His head gear intrigued me but I couldn't get his attention (as the device in his hands is VERY loud)in order to get him to look at me....It was 93* this day and I couldn't help but think he was very hot in a long sleeve shirt, jeans, and another shirt wrapped around his head with a hat on. Maybe that does keep you cool but it didn't look like it to me!

Way to hot for all those clothes.
ReplyDeleteI think the states have regulations that the maintenance workers have to wear long pants but not sure about the long sleeve stuff. I know from experience that the weed wacker can shoot "junk" everywhere and it comes down to temp outside vs rocks, grass, and whatever all over you! My neighbors wonder about me when I'm out with long sleeved everything when working in the yard.
ReplyDeleteMy husband wears the long sleeves for protection from the sun. I don't think I could stand them.
ReplyDeleteI doubt he stood out in the sun long with all that stuff on.

For me it's looks like top hot!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't work out why the hell the kid was "whacking the weeds" - until the picture downloaded!!!
ReplyDeleteAh now it is clear - we call these tools "whipper snippers"in Australia so the kid is "whipper snippering" - sounds just as silly doesn't it??
Didn´t he sweat?
ReplyDeleteInteresting observations. I wonder where the residue was going that he was whacking off? On the car?
ReplyDeleteIn England they are known as 'Strimmers' how boring compaired to yours. If he was wearing all that gear for health & safty reasons, it shows the stupidity of it. It can't have been healthy to do that in that heat.
ReplyDeleteI like your 'obbo' pictures
Some people have a really hard job. I think he was trying to protect his neck from the heat. I hate being in the heat..... I have not been to the beach once this summer.
ReplyDeleteNeva, I will post the schmooze award tonight. Olivier explained how to do it. I hope I can add a "thanks to Neva" under it as you do for Lori.
Thank you again :-))
Hi Neva,
ReplyDeleteHaHAHAHAHA,
LOL that reminds me that we (my hus and me) ere wearing a raincoat in Costa Rica last december it was soooooooo HOT:)
At home the coats stink so much I washed them, that helped, so NEVER wear a raincoat in HOT weather hahaha!!!
JoAnn :)
Looking at him makes me feel hot. Thank you for your birthday greeting.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Your photo is making me hot :-)
ReplyDeleteIt works! Keeps the sun off, the bugs off, unless you step in a yellow jacket nest, absorbs the sweat, and keeps the branches from whatever limbs may be reaching out for you. I thought it was pretty silly too until I had to do the "back forty" I have just about had all the fun I want with that job!! (A Greg quote)!
