The West Virginia Capitol Building
I went to visit my mom over the weekend in West Virginia with my Motherinlaw, niece and #2 son. We went to see the Capitol building but because it was 96* outside, we decided to do a drive by instead of a walking tour....It is one of the prettiest capitols in the United States...but then I am a bit biased!

ReplyDeletethe dome of the Capitol is very beautiful. I like a lot.
It was sure a hot day... and you got a 'Hot Shot' to. Love how it pops out over the trees.
ReplyDeleteHello Neva ... what marvellous view and building that is!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a beautiful dome. I like the gold detailing. Its been hot here, but not that hot! Thankfully! :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic image and view!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot. It is a great looking building!
ReplyDeleteIndeed it appears to be a beautiful capital building - and it probably would have been cool inside, too! :-)
ReplyDelete"Louis" appreciates your regular visits to San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.
I always love a shot of a capitol! Great catch!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you caught this, but the dome hasn't always been gold and black- typical limestone buildings retain their limestone color, with a few engravings or carvings. My educated guess would be that the black, recently added, reflects the black of the coal that sustains the state's (and, on a larger extent, the country's) economy.
