The United States Postal System is really an awesome system. It has been in existence since 1776 when Ben Franklin created it under the Second Continental Congress. It really does work very well and even though I use UPS, I always use the United States Postal Service for regular letters and most of my packages. They are wonderful. This is the symbol for the USPS....have a look at others around the world and what they have done for "U" at Mrs. Nesbitt's!

ReplyDeleteIsn't it exciting to receive an actual letter or card via "snail mail" these days? I think the US postal service is better than Canada's...they're SO slow!

Thank goodness for Ben Franklin, today the politicians would argue for years before a system like the postal service could be created.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to know that one can still use the "snaol-mail" - very often the only thing that works.

ReplyDeleteYes, I guess we should give them credit -- once in a while... Fine people work there, but I'm not sure how efficient the massive management structure is.
ReplyDeleteWe tend to be critical of the USPS - particularly when standing impatiently in line at the counter if we need one of the counter services, or when we notice that the stamp vending machine that was broken 3 months ago is STILL broken today when we visit - but overall, the service works well. Your post made "Louis" think of when he lived in France and the delivery people from la Poste on their yellow and blue bicycles bringing the mail TWICE a day. Les Français make fun of la Poste just as do nous Américains.

Good idea for the theme today. We have Royal Mail and it works well, most of the time!
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice U although being a Canadian, I know very little of the US Postal service, but what I did see that we have in common is that I have recently bought a Canon Rebel XTI as well; and I love it!

ReplyDeleteMy brother at one time worked for the postal service, and then later worked for UPS. Two U-s and I didn't even think of them--but I had my ups and unders ready.
