A Washington Hawthorn
These are some SERIOUS thorns on this Washington Hawthorn tree. We have one in our front near our dining room window. It is not a tree you want out in the yard or where someone could unwittingly walk into or onto one of these thorns!
Ouch!
ReplyDeleteNothing scares me!! Bring it on, Hawthorn!! LOL
ReplyDeleteNice photo, Neva ... and great info! I won't be climbing one of these anytime soon!
Wow serious thorns indeed - I've never seen a Hawthorn but this is close enough thanks. Great capture Neva!

ReplyDeleteNever heard or seen of these.. I know of Hawthorns for sure but never this one...
ReplyDeleteNow, those are thorns! It's very pretty in an architectural way, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThey look like ice picks. Dang, they are big.
ReplyDeleteMy gosh! Those are huge. I'm glad you got this photo to share with us from inside the window--right?
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like it. Where are my pruning shears? I hope birds don't get too close either.
ReplyDeleteOf all the trees I work with this one that I approach with the utmost respect and care.
