ABC Wednesday W is for Woodfield Mall

I was having a hard time with "W"..you'd think it would not be so difficult! On my way home from the airport this morning, I drove by Woodfield Mall....so "W" didn't turn out to be so hard after all....but even at 6:20 AM this morning, the stores were open and getting ready for one of the biggest shopping days this year with all the Christmas returns. I am not, nor will I ever be, an after Thanksgiving or Christmas Day shopper. I need NOTHING that badly! Make sure you visit all the ABC participants listed in my side bar!

  1. For anyone who is carless on this day when there is no public transport and taxis charge double-rate, the sales are a no-no anyway. Not that I'd want to and anyway by all accounts you can get the bargains online these days.

  2. I heard that people don't like their Christmas gifts anymore and that everybody is selling them on the net. So why give anything next Christmas if it isn't appreciated?

  3. In Norway the second day of Christmas is a holiday too, so (luckily)- no shopping today!!!

    Thank your nice comment!

  4. We don't have Boxing Day in the US so the stores are a madhouse with gift card purchases, returns and a lot of big sales.

Neva, nice capture but this is as close I want to get to a mall for awhile.

    Happy New Year.

  5. I was at Woodfield mall one time on the Saturday before Christmas. I was in Chicago for my nieces wedding and needed a black pair of socks. Took two hours to park get to Penny's buy the socks and then get out of the parking lot.

  8. That sounds like a good "W" to me. How do I sign up for the letter of the week/month?

  9. I am so over shopping too Neve.

This seems to take away from the spirit of Christmas doesn't it?

  10. comme quoi une idée peut venir rapidement. C'est vrai qu'il y a souvent beaucoup de monde, le jour après noël, pour échanger ou rendre des cadeaux ;o)

As an idea what may come quickly. It's true that there is often a lot of people, the day after Christmas Day, to exchange gifts or make ;o)

  11. Just in the nick of time for the "W". Great post!

I am not a shopper at all... in fact I really hate to shop...and I especially hate crowds...so you will never see me in a store the day after Thanksgiving or Christmas.

  12. I agree with you on that.

My brother waited outside an electronic store for 3 hours to buy a Wii video game machine for my nieces. And he is not a shopper either. Aghhh! Things we do for the people we love.

  13. Hi Neva! I somehow missed you on Wed.
My daughter and I went shopping the day after Christmas in Brunswick Ga and it wasn't bad at all.

  14. I'm with you. I will not shop the day after Thanksgiving either. But now I've learned that you have to go before Thanksgiving. The stores had NOTHING left after Thanksgiving. I did almost everything on line this year. I loved it. Even the post office was jammed full the day after Christmas. I don't get that!
