The New River again

A co-worker of mine was at the New River Bridge, in West Virginia(where I was raised) a few weeks ago. This is from his collection....I just thought it was an awesome view.

  6. Indeed a breathtaking view.

Sorry about the depressing pic you saw on my blog. I have not watched that documentary yet, but i have read about it. On another program, someone gave some kids from the streets digital cameras and asked them to shoot whatever they wanted and one of them came up with excellent photos though he did not have any prior knowledge or training. At least this way they were able to find and encourage good talent. I will keep an eye out for the documentary you mentioned.

Actually I find my own entries depressing so I try to bring levity to them by including some quotes. There are so many depressing things here. You won't know that by looking at tourism commercials. I am trying to present pics that may be unique to part of the world (and in the process finding that they are not so unique afterall by comments of bloggers from other countries).

  8. Even tho I see the road on the far side of the river, this view makes one wonder why there is a bridge there. It seems so out of context because of the mountains and trees. It's great!
