A Destination Store

 
This is a new store that recently opened near Inverness. I had to go here to return a Christmas gift that did not fit and -wow- such a store....This is the front and I will show a few more over the next day or so...I found the inside unbelievable!

A Ghost?

 

ok ok ...not the best picture but remember I am practicing my night shots! We were snow blowing the other evening when we had 5.2 inches of snow and I thought I would try it again.....Doesn't it look like a ghost snow blowing?

It snowed here yesterday --a whopping 5.2 inches. Clancy loves it....his kind of weather!

Midnight Mass in Inverness

 
Technically, this is in Palatine...St. Theresa Catholic Church....but this is where we attend church....Mood lighting for Midnight Mass....and I can't believe my husband stood next to me and didn't flip out that I was taking pictures in the church!!

ABC Wednesday W is for Woodfield Mall

 
I was having a hard time with "W"..you'd think it would not be so difficult! On my way home from the airport this morning, I drove by Woodfield Mall....so "W" didn't turn out to be so hard after all....but even at 6:20 AM this morning, the stores were open and getting ready for one of the biggest shopping days this year with all the Christmas returns. I am not, nor will I ever be, an after Thanksgiving or Christmas Day shopper. I need NOTHING that badly! Make sure you visit all the ABC participants listed in my side bar!

A Physics Gingerbread house

Our Physics teacher was teaching "vectors". Her students got together and made her this gingerbread house...with vectors on the top. I thought it was awesome!

Night in Inverness

 
This house is my "backyard" neighbor. The original owners moved out 2 years ago but when they built it 22 years ago, it won all kinds of architecture awards. I will do a day shot but I was having fun in the snow the other night and just like the way this looks...

I was at St. Ignatius College Prep(catholic) School yesterday and this is what their physics kids have been working on....bridges......this is over an opening 3 stories high. I was very impressed and between my matches I took this....

UPS United Parcel Service This is the UPS near my house. I imagine many of us in America will do UPS! "U" was hard for me. The Season of Advent

 
Our students collected toys for the needy. This is about 1/3 of what was collected....the rest had already made it into the truck before I could get my camera out! Our students are required to do 200 service hours in order to graduate over the course of 4 years in High School. This is just one of many projects they do. Our school is about 1,000 students.

This is what it looked like here last night on my way home from work (I had a Scholastic Bowl meet---we are undefeated --so far!). This is a police car and a tow truck trying to figure out how to get the car out of the "ditch" (all the way to the right). Scary driving.

An amazing RV

 
I passed this last night and I can honestly say that I have never seen an RV decorated for Christmas before....of course it was on an RV lot but still.....it caught my eye....Thanks to Ming the Merciless for giving me the info on how to do night shots with my little point and shoot....I still need practice but I did get this one!
