India via Shannon
My daughter is home after spending 5 months traveling through India with the Hare Krishnas. She went on pilgramages and met the most interesting of people. She wore saris (they were cooler than what she had) and generally made herself at home in the India culture. This is one of her photos that I loved. It is the Gange River I believe..if am wrong I will correct it later....and the worshipers.followers bathing in the river.

For a moment there I thought you meant she'd flown via Shannon airport in Ireland.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to see this photo as I am an Indian....
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic photo! I always see photos of worshipers bathing in the Ganges, but always during the day. The soft evening light makes it look almost romantic.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Hilda, I don't think I've seen that many nighttime shots of the Ganges.
ReplyDeleteIncredible light. You must be so excited.
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic! What a photograph. It looks like a Turner painting. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Neva! Wow! So now it will take some months for you to get all the information on India, I suspect... ;))
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!!
Blogtrotter is showing some sights of the most northern capital city in the world. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
Great photo!
ReplyDeleteTruly a wonderful shot! I watched a burial ceremony on the River and it was amazing. The river itself isn't the cleanest in the world so I quietly shook my head during a ceremony at a temple where one was supposed to drink water from the Ganges. The priest, however, was not pleased and shook his finger at me when I refused. Both of us polite but we each got our point across!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fantastic photo! It looks like a movie scene! I am really impressed.
