The Wetland meets the groomed yard

While I personally love the way this looks, those who have an inkling about the environment find this kind of thing appalling.....the "thing" being using the wetlands for a regular yard. I might point out that much of the surrounding area where I live is surrounded by some form of a wetland or preserve......I see both sides of this coin....one, as a homeowner and the other as an environmentalist sympathizer.

  1. belle plaine, mais avec toute l'eau qui est tombée, c'est normal que ce soit si vert. un endroit surement très agréable pour se promener
beautiful plain, but with all the water that fell, it is normal that this is so green. surely a very pleasant place to stroll

  2. It's of course easier if you can let all the others take care of the environmental issues!

  3. For me "not" knowing the "story" it would seem to be a different kind of situation if you are permitted to make a lawn out of a wetland. Is that like the Everglades being made over into a lawn?

If it is a wetland like wetlands are, then I would think it could not be made over and that it would be in the deed to the land.

If those are willow trees I would not want them in a wetland or in my lawn.

  4. Regardless of the various arguments, this is a nice, peaceful image...

(Why are the "environmentalists" always so angry and sanctimonious? We need to take good care of the earth, but the "environmentalists", as least in the California incarnation of them seem to want nothing less than to take us back to the stone age...)

[Editor to "Louis:" You weren't invited here to start pontificating!

"Louis" to Editor: I know. Anyway my funny hat and staff are in Rome...

Editor to "Louis:" THAT wasn't funny, "Louis!"

    "Louis" ....(crickets)....]

  5. Well, however it's being used it certainly looks very lush and green. You are lucky to be surrounded by wetlands and preserves. Lovely photo!!

  6. The photograph is beautiful there's no denying that. You know me and my blog and my love of nature reserves and wetlands I do favour those more, but understand the need for compromise with our surrounding. Well done for putting the question out there.
