Spring is coming

With the rain we have been having and the warmer-if erratic-- weather, Spring is coming quickly...all the trees are starting to bud. My tulips are still on the ground but they do look bright! This is our Washington Hawthorn and it is getting ready to bloom. These are some nasty thorns! Fortunately, it is in a place where you don't walk into it!

  3. This has seemed like an erratic spring and winter too. It was 84 yesterday here and windy and today is suppose to be 67.

I had a nice Washington Hawthorne but it was one of those law suit things. Somebody gets stuck and I get sued, LOL, so I took it out. It also got some kind of fungus or growths.

  4. As Abe said, spring and winter seem to be struggling between them. One doesn't want to go and the other wants to arrive ...
Hope we will be able to see photos of that tree full of leaves quite soon.

As for you question about the sidewalk being yellow, I haven't the faintest idea. But I guess they didn't remember the yellow bick road of the Wizard of Oz! :)

  5. rain should bring tulips :) Thanks for your comments about the Frank Lloyd Wright Series. I was hoping it would be of interest to people. I have a few more days and then I will move on to different Chihuly, cactus and desert photos. I was in Morocco for the past two weeks so I wanted to make sure there was a series of something that would be informative and different for people to enjoy while I was away. Morocco was very interesting and, surprisingly, very French. A very different experience than Egypt or Jordan. It was a quite enjoyable trip. I will spend the next week catching up on everyone's websites and enjoying their photos. Thanks for your comments on my site. I have read them all.

  6. Glad to know signs of spring are reaching your area! Although we have short and mild winters here I find them so depressing... :-)

  7. It's great to see all the trees start to leaf out, isn't it? Your tulips are lovely, Neva, but I'm wondering what happened to them. You must have had some pretty strong winds. Of course, this is Illinois, and as we all know, spring here can be pretty capricious:)

  11. Looks like this thorny tree is encroaching on your sliding glass door. Or is that just a huge window?
