A cool summer

We have had a very cool summer this year. This is a shot of one of our Austrian pines after a rain. Turns out Austrian pines aren't supposed to do so well here in the north.....we have 10 on our property and they have done ok for 23 years. However, we seem to be losing 4 trees to a fungus this year. Our tomatoes have succumbed to a fungus as well so all those lovely tomatoes are rotting on our vine. We are an organic outfit here.... no bad chemicals on the lawn and we don't use them on the veges or trees either. The tree guy that came to look at our trees suggested we might want to "rethink" organic. With 4 dogs, a daughter that is an environmentalist and us with a well for our water....probably we won't be using chemicals still. So bye bye to 4 trees ( I will post them tomorrow).Hopefully, we won't lose anymore.

  1. Neva, I'm so sad about your trees and tomatoes. But I'm proud of your organic stand. Sometimes all we get out of life is a toss-up, isn't it?

  2. Sorry to hear about your plants. We've been experiencing temperatures in the 80's and 90's recently until this weekend where we saw our first rains of the season. Autumn is just around the corner.

  3. j'aime bien la photo, avec ce ruisseau sur le coté, que de la fraicheur

  4. I'm glad I clicked to enlarge the photo. The detail of the rain drops is stunningly clear. Great post.

  5. Hi neva,
How are you doing sad that the summer was cool, we have the same with grapes ( stayed small in size) but nevertheless , we enjoyed some summer sun days!

Take care and greetings from JoAnn (hug from dog Ios for your doggies)

  6. ... and next week the official autumn (sorry, fall) is there! Maybe and Indian summer?

I am glad you stopped in!
