University of Illinois

 
I went down to Champagne, Illinois for their Homecoming game against Minnesota...Most of you know I am not a football fan.....I usually go down to see my daughter who was in school there. However, she has graduated and not there now (she is still in Costa Rica) but I went anyway with a friend who had an extra ticket....
When I can tell it is a bad game....then it must be horrible. The Illini lost 20 to 27 and played pretty dismally.....As we were leaving, the beautiful trees as they are changing colors just looked wonderful against all the orange of the fans shirts. They have just finished remodeling the stadium with something like skyboxes...I don't really remember what they are called...which is why the construction fences are still up. And, yes, I also had orange on...it is one of the colors I like, fortunately!

This is what the little fisherman from yesterday really looks like.....this is in a small town that is mostly stores now and they were preparing for "Apple Fest!". Notice all the tents/booths in the background.

ABC Wednesday L is for Lounge chairs

 
When I was a kid, we had a chair like these that we all loved to sit in...It was a great chair for reading. A fabulous lounge chair......while we were out looking at model homes, I saw this and just loved it....to enjoy all the ABC participants hosted by Denise go here.

Chess anyone?

 
My husband and I were out looking at model homes trying to get ideas for redecorating. We found some of the funniest things that people have done. This was pretty funny to us. A chess board in your driveway......I wonder how you put the car in the garage when the chess set is up? And they were not that light to move...guess they didn't want the wind to blow them over!

This is what the sky looked like tonight while I was out walking with my Russian visitor. This is a little community near me that has a small shop area that are Victorian homes turned into shops...It is a lovely place to come on a weekend.....
